Not Poem Single Video Release

Introduction

“It is difficult to get the news from poems yet men die miserably every day for lack of what is found there.”

William Carlos Williams

The news isn’t easy to find, but it’s out there. And in the age of information overload, we could all use a little relief in finding inspiration, thoughtful consideration and new ways of looking at things. That’s what poets offer. Not Poem was birthed through me being cheesed-off by neoliberal politicians up/is/down, lies/are/truth sweet-sounding speeches and such and their echo-chambers in media, entertainment and so on…& I started compiling a list. That list grew into Not Poem.

Recently, a new video was released for the recording “Not Poem” from my latest album, Shots on Eglinton. I wanted to share it with you. I’ve been exploring expanding my creative practice to include online distribution and other tools available to writers and performers like myself to help us engage in transformative conversation outside our sometimes limited spheres.

I hope you enjoy the new video and the poem. Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments. And if you want to stay up-to-date on my poetry and my music, be sure to join me on social media, check out my work on streaming platforms near you, or sign up for my mailing list. Thanks for reading and watching!
